Meet the Owner,
Lorraine
Lorraine Viau embarked on her legal career as an Administrative Clerk at the Provincial Offences Centre in Cochrane, starting as a placement student and summer intern. This formative experience ignited her passion for law and solidified her commitment to pursuing a future in this dynamic field.
After completing her studies at College Boreal, Lorraine graduated from the Paralegal Program in 2005 and quickly joined a small law firm in Northern Ontario as a Paralegal. There, she honed her skills and gained invaluable experience. In 2006, she was appointed as the Municipal Prosecutor for Provincial Offences in the North-East region by the Town of Cochrane, further expanding her expertise in the legal landscape.
In 2008, Lorraine obtained her licence from the Law Society of Ontario in accordance with new provincial regulations. By January 2010, she transitioned to The Northern Defender Paralegal Professional Corporation, specializing in defending individuals wrongfully accused of various provincial offences, particularly those related to the Highway Traffic Act.
Renowned for her professionalism and transparency, Lorraine leverages her extensive experience on both sides of the courtroom to advocate fiercely for her clients' rights. Understanding the significant implications that a clean driving record can have on insurance premiums and demerit points, she is dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes for those she represents.
